Slaping

I have been challanged. A challange is a challange and must be met. This one, I call a "slap". Basically, I have to right 99 things about myself. Now, that's something.
Here I go:

1. I can be very annoying.
2. I often practice the abillity shown at point 1 above.
3. I often drive people crazy.
4. I like that about myself. Crazy is good.
5. I don't eat meat.
6. Never.
7. Fish and sea fruits are not meat. For the record.
8. I suffer from metall poisoning. Heavy metall.
9. Some people like to argue on that. I drive them crazy in reply.
10. I love cats.
11. I have a cat. Or the cat has me. Not sure.
12. I love my cat. And street cats. And wild cats. And bobcats. whatever ... If it's a cat I love it.
13. I hate stupid. If it's stupid, I hate it.
14. Today I hate Animaloo a little because he challanged me. Just a little bit.
15. I have to stop to draft the Romanian version. And see how I connect it to this one
16. I hate writting in Romanian.
17. All right, just a little more. I have a ticket to the AC/DC concert.
18. In Amsterdam.
19. Drugs, sex & rock'n roll. Two out of three have been provided for. That leaves only sex.
20. That's all for now.

Uh, and about the pool ...

The last one was veeery disappointing.
The bank was Unicredit, btw.The score the other two banks got worries me the most though. I actually was naive enough to think I could use the results to select a better bank.

Obama, the Cat

So... lately i am considering very seriously pleading with the partners at my law firm to get a cat as our mascot. I am thinking that a black cat would be just perfect. We could go with the trends of the moment and call it "Obama". When the fashion changes, we could just reduce it to "Obi" or even "Obi Wan". This one will never go away.

And for those who might argue that a black cat brings bed luck, well, at least the clients will know what to expect when they enter our door. Should it go the opposite way, then they'll be pleasantly surprised.

I call this a win-win.

PS: please vote in my pool.

Career move

Dear boys and girls,

I have an important anouncement to make: I made a career move and I decided to move out. Out of the company, that is.

So now I started working as a consultant for an independent (:D) consultancy firm. I guess I don't have to mention what kind of consultancy, but for the record, I'll state that it's legal consultancy.

I must confess it's kind of a shock since the phones don't ring anymore and my mail box is rather empty. Yeah, that's the first week (month? hopefully) at the new job. You do mostly nothing.

I sort of miss the stress and excitement. Maybe that's a little of an overstatement though.

Anyways ... my main concern right now is about this blog. Apparently the main reason why people tend to leave a blog is when the blog profile changes. So I guess I am at danger to loose my 3 readers, since I don't have any pass-agg stories to tell right now.

But we'll have to wait and see. For now, suffices to say the week-end is coming fast, so enjoy.

SHARK TALE

I just got back from my late summer vacation and there is something that I think I must share.
One of the highlights of this vacation has been the visit to the Lisbon Oceanarium, said to be the biggest in Europe (at least, according to the local advertising). And that's how I met the sharks. They weren't doing much, just sitting there in a giant tank, swimming around and showing their teeth from time to time just for sport (and that's one site I'll never forget). Trust me when I say that the sharks were about the size of a small human (anywhere between 6 and 8 years of age). The surprising part is that they were living in these big tankers together with all kind of fish, one juicier than another. And I mean big, fat and succulent non-predators, juicy to the extent that I found myself fantasizing about them floating on a plate surrounded with pieces of lemon ... mm mm.
Yap, the sharks were peacefully sharing the tankers with their yummy neighbors, grinning their impressive teeth in the middle of all that food ... I just didn't get it so first chance I got I asked someone from the staff how come. The answer blow me away: the sharks, she said, don't feed on the other fish, 'cause all they've been trained to eat is frozen fish. Accidents happen sometimes, but they're very rare.

At first I thought that maybe the sharks don't know they're sharks, that they haven't realized their true nature but after some more watching I realized this could not be true. It wasn't so much the sharks that made my realize the error in my initial judgment as the other fish, the way they were moving carefully around the sharks, self conscientious to the maximum extent that a fish can be if we're willing to admit that fish may develop conscience, like saying "sorry, Sir, I meant no disrespect, just swimming around, sorry if I disturbed you". They obviously knew so the sharks must have known they were sharks.

It didn't seem to make any sense at that time but later on I understood. The sharks knew what they were, except that they weren't used to look at the other inhabitants of the tanker as food. At least, not as long as the frozen fish kept coming. It was cleaner and more pleasant this way, to have neighbors and not be alone in the tanker and since they were feed anyway they were willing to compromise with regard to the quality of that food.

Still, I would't like to be in that tanker the day when dinner is late for all the gold in this world.

Why do banks go bankrupt & stuff

Because they're stupid! That's why. I tell you, this is the only answer that makes sense.

For instance, I went to the bank yesterday to take care of some business and I found out I have one curent account opened and two cards issued that I never asked for ... but that apparently I am paying for.

So I asked them kindly (pass-agg) to inform me how much I've been paying for all that (I used the Consultant tone of voice - which is abt the only thing this post has in common with consultancy) and to take care of the matter, preferably within a reasonable period of time. Or else...

Hope they answer me before they go bankrupt. 'Cause I am really curious.
And btw, this is supposed to be a "first rank European bank".

Feel free to take a wild guess. I'll try to start a pool, if I figure out how it works ... :)

Theme song

Just added a new gadget (check video bar) on this blog, so ... enjoy. Think of it as my theme song (evil grim: mwa-ha-ha)
